A series of threads examining the groundbreaking series Alias (2001-2004), by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos with covers by David Mack. It was the first series in Marvel’s 18+ “MAX” imprint and introduced the character of Jessica Jones.
What’s it all about?
Alias ran for 28 issues between 2001-2004. It stars Jessica Jones, a retired superhero and current foul-mouthed private investigator who often works cases involving superheroes (despite her attempts to avoid it). It’s a revisionist comic with a noir tone, dealing with grief and trauma while offering thoughtful critiques of the superhero genre’s gender and sexual politics.
